2000 Williamson's Enviro-7 (7 Speaker) VINTAGE Boombox Radio AIE 1978 RARE.
huge & heavy 70's era boom box...It is in ok shape with some wear. Basic functions have been tested. Radio works, cassette does not. It has a chip in side and is missing logo placards.
This is a 7-speaker boombox. That's right, seven! There are 4 on the front (5-inch woofers and 2-inch tweeters), one 2.75 x 1.5 inch oval speaker on each side, and a big 6x9 inch oval woofer on the back. All of these speakers are labeled "Hokutone Japan". There is a toggle switch labeled "Enviro Stereo" that sends more power to the side and rear speakers.
We believe it was introduced in 1977 or 1978. Most boomboxes from those years made only 6-10 watts RMS, but this one allegedly makes 13.5, and I believe it. It produces nice warm bass even at very low volumes. It was made in Hong Kong, by a company called Asia International Electronics Limited (AIE). It is very heavy for its size: 7.7kg (17.0 lbs)
