Presenting a fabulous vintage Australian pottery ashtray produced by the Western Australian pottery, Wembley circa 1950s. This superb piece features a central transfer depiction of an Aboriginal man with lettering below reading "Australian Native Stockman". The Aboriginal man is dressed just like a pipe smoking cowboy, donning an akubra hat and wearing a bandanna around his neck. The rim of the astray is decorated with relief panels depicting an Aboriginal face surrounded by boomerangs, kangaroos and spears and finished in a blended combination of fresh green and brown glazes. The cigarette rests have been finished in glistening gilt gold. SIZE: This impressive piece measures approx 155mms in diameter and stands 20mms tall. CONDITION: This piece is presented in exceptional vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. The transfer remains crisp and vibrant and the gold lustre glaze is exceptional. This fine example has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly.
