Provides many origins of names of cities within area also bushrangers, smuggling, early Baths, excellent plate of The Lady of St. Kilda, the old schoolroom from the first State School, Oakleigh Hall now possibly Caulfield Town Hall, St. Mary's Church, St. Kilda Junction about 1858, All Saint's Church, Kenny's Bathing Ship and Baths. Smugglers brought goods off ships and buried Brandy and goods on the beach. Volume 2 has b/w tipped in frontispiece that includes Cr. A Jacka Gallipolli Hero and Victoria Cross winner.
