Magnificent peal ( Bakelite) & silver plated crystal spinning finders 100CM long flappers necklace! Estimated 1920-1930 made in USA ! History of Bakelite in the photos! These Bakelite pearls overtook the popular choice of real pearls later part of Art Deco period for their durability! Once moulded they cannot be re-shaped like celluloid. Tapped against your teeth and they are hard as rock . Incredibly beautiful in person the crystals have rainbow reflections. We have three spinning crystal finders ( 1.6cm x 1.4 cm ) . The pearls vary in size and shape ( some round 1.2 cm ) most are irregular shape( 1.4 cm). The clasp is a box clasp ( slides into / hidden slider) with a 9 mm solitaire crystal ( also silver plated). The string is metal with a plastic coating. It can be worn long or doubled over as seen in photos. This is a timeless statement piece that will jazz up any outfit! It’s a very desirable piece for collectors.
