On offer is this large Oval Vintage Chinese 1920-1940 Republic Era Carved Brown Jade Silver Gilt Metal Box featuring a very high relief carved Brown Jade lid. Inside the lid there is a mirror.  These pieces were made for export to the West during the Republican period. It measures: 4.75" x 3.75" x 2" H. The silver gilt is very bright and shiny and the mirror inside the lid is in perfect condition.  The highly polished carved Tan/brown jade lid is large and it's domed shape rises high above the lid. This box weighs a hefty 318.6 grams. In excellent vintage condition because it has never been used and has been kept inside a display cabinet.  A lovely box that can be used for jewelry or trinkets. There is no hallmark. These wonderful pieces are no longer being made and a fine addition to the serious collector.
