The Government of Thailand issued this large 60-baht banknote to commemorate Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX)s sixtieth birthday. The banknote measures 159 mm by 159 mm. The obverse paints a divine image of King Rama IX: King Bhumibol is seated on the royal throne wearing a military uniform and the Chakri Dynasty royal robe. The throne is protected by Kranok tongues of flame. The royal emblem is printed in green-to-blue optically variable ink and the bank emblem of Thailand the Phra Siam Theva Thiraj is seated while holding a bag of money and a walking stickare also featured on the obverse side of the banknote. The reverse side of the note is a picture of the royal family interacting with a crowd. The security features of the note are a solid security thread with printed Thai text and a watermark of a triangle.
