A new series of roadhouse relic style guitars here at Buzzard Guitars. A great sounding example of the 4 string cigar box style guitar. Made using a repro “Route 66” sign for the guitar top and recycled 100 year old Mountain Ash from Bathurst railway workshops for the box to help the rustic sign graphics to really stand out. A piece of antique 100 year old Canadian Cedar for the back. The neck is made from recycled Mahogany with a laminated hand cut Holm Oak headstock veneer and is fitted with a Tasmanian Blackwood fretboard to finish off the neck nicely. The slotted headstock helps to give the strings an increased angle at the nut with greater volume and tone as well as more stable tuning. A single coil 4 string CBG pickup coupled with quality electrical components used throughout. I have used a hand burnished oil finish for a subtle relic appearance that has a truly timeless vintage look. The metal Route 66 sign not only looks great but with the magnetised coil of the pickup in close proximity to the metal top of the guitar body it helps to widen the magnetic field of the pickup and makes it more dynamic and responsive so they give out a great sound and responds well to percussive style playing. I strive to make the most unique sounding cigar box guitars available anywhere in Australia. Currently tuned to DADF# with 46,36,26,17 Daddario light gauge nickel wound strings. But is suitable for a variety of alternative slide tunings. Item will be safely packaged and posted using Aus post within 3 business days. |
