Byles. Byles sold the first seedlings of his new tomato breed in the 1940's for one dollar each to customers who drove up to 200 miles for his famous plants that bore tasty tomatoes averaging 1kg in weight. With these sales, Charlie managed to pay off his $6,000 mortgage in only six years, and so the tomato was named Mortgage Lifter. Sow in Spring and Summer or all year in warm northern areas (needs 20-28 degrees C to germinate). Sow 5mm, seedlings emerge 10-14 days, space 50cm apart. This variety is indeterminate so needs to be staked. Harvest approx. 75 days after sowing To combine postage click buy it now on the items you want but WAIT FOR THE INVOICE before paying for any items.
