JAPANESE SOUVENIR JACKET “SUKAJAN”
This lightweight jacket features a striking design of an embroidered "Japanese Koi" swimming in the river on the back. The Koi fish represents luck, good fortune and also personal strength as the Koi always swims upstream. "Japan" is embroidered on the left side chest panel. There is a Black stripe that runs down the sleeves. It has two pockets, one on each side. It has a black inner lining.
These Sukajan jackets beautifully combine the basic style of the American standard Letterman jackets with quintessentially Japanese motifs such as the dragon, the eagle, the koi-fish and the tiger. The name Sukajan is an abbreviation of their original Japanese name - Yokosuka Jum per. The jackets were originally created by Japanese craftsmen on request for U.S. military personnel around the Yokosuka Air Force Base after WWII, and were also known as Souvenir Jackets. 60 years on, these jackets have lost none of their cool factor.
This jacket really makes a statement!
