Collector's item for display.
Has not been used since the late 1970s when I was guiding in theRed Sea, and doing some early underwater photography - some way behind Cousteau and Hass.
Inlet and Exhaust Tubes and Mouthpiece are in very soundcondition. I haven't tried to clean the main body of theregulator, which is well-scuffed (see photos).
This piece of collectable kit has been sitting in a box in mystudy with my Cousteau-Gagnan La Spirotechnique "Mistral" twin hose (see separate ad) for well over40 years waiting to be displayed. Somehow I never got around to it and itfeels like time to pass these great relics onto someone who'll actually getaround to using and/or displaying them. I only recommend the latter use,but that's up to the buyer to decide.
Priced to sell to a good home. Would look great as a pair!
Notes: This Siebe Gorman Merlin Mark VI SCUBA air regulator consists of a single stage demand valve, two rubber hoses and mouthpiece. When it was first manufactured in 1966 the Siebe Gorman Mark VI demand valve was at the zenith of diving equipment. Rugged and dependable it became the regulator of choice for the Royal Navy as well as for commercial and scientific divers, especially photographers, who valued having air bubbles behind their backs.
