Antique hand tools - saw #255:

Up for sale is a very nice Disston D8 Hand Saw, freshly hand sharpened to be a fast cutting 8ppi crosscut.

This is a mid sized 25inch / 635mm long hand saw, an apple handle, a partial etch on this one, dates between 1928-40, freshly hand sharpened to be an 8PPI crosscut with 12° of rake & 25° of fleam with a medium set, this saw murders wood & cuts like a hot knife through butter. 

This saw is a fine cutting minimal set joiners saw for use in dry seasoned timber only, it's not for cutting wet pine. 

This saw is for the woodworker who is happy to work unplugged & enjoy the feedback of a sharp saw cutting wood with their hands instead of flicking a switch.

It cuts well, all sharpened saws are fully guaranteed, if it fails your expectations of a sharp saw, send it back in the condition that I sent it to you for your money back- simple. Any blue colour you can see on the toothline is engineers blue set out fluid that my saw dr uses to keep track of where he's filed- if you've ever sharpened a saw before this will make sense to you, it rubs of easy with meths or orange oil or use.

CONDITION

This saw is in authentic vintage condition, wear and tear consistent with age and use, freshly hand sharpened, a partial etch, scattered pinprick pitting to the blade, the handle has a chip out of the covertop area & a couple of chips out of the bottom & some sawbag rash, it's a gorgeous mid sized hand saw, ready to go to work in the discerning workshop, this thing is sticky sharp.
