A rare antique engraved miniature map, one of relatively few produced in eighteenth century America. All 18th century miniatures in any area are rare today, those produced in the United States especially so. this example of particular note for the engravers signature within the plate below the cartouche. This particular American engraver is enormously rare, and the key reference work on American engravers of the 18th century notes but a tiny handful by him are known, entirely excluding knowledge of this miniature cartographic gem. Paper remains sound & well preserved, minor spotting in blank margins or edge toning. Nice example.
