Studies show Betaine Anhydrous TMG may assist in:
Betaine Anhydrous TMG (Trimethylglycine) is ideal for those who want to improve their body composition, athletic performance and whole body mind health.
Betaine Anhydrous TMG (Trimethylglycine) is an amino acid osmolyte formed in the body from choline and has a positive effect on bodily cell hydration and is highly effective at decreasing inflammation and oxidative stress; both very important when it comes to performance and recovery. It was originally called 'Betaine' as it was first isolated from sugar beets in the 19th century and is found in many foods such as beets, spinach, quinoa, wheat and ancient grains.
Betaine, more recently has been referred to as 'Trimethylglycine' or 'TMG 'as it has three methyl groups attached to each molecule of glycine. Because of this it has been shown to be an important co-factor in methylation, a process that aids in many cellular processes in the body such as protecting cells, proteins and enzymes from environmental stressors e.g dehydration, high temperature, low/high sodium levels.
Since the year 2000, there has been an increasing amount of studies that suggest supplementation with Betaine Anhydrous TMG may assist in:
Other Benefits of Betaine Anhydrous TMG:
Originally, studies suggested that betaine lowered homocysteine levels, thereby improving heart health, but since then it has also been shown that it may help support other inner organs, improving liver, kidney and pancreas health (Craig et al, 2004). Betaine has also been shown to reduce oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation (Craig et al, 2004).
Betaine has also been shown to improve methylation and increase S-adenosyl-methionine (SAMe), which can lead to supporting mental health (Di Pierro et al, 2015). Betaine has also been shown to increase cognitive function (Eussen et al, 2007) and general well-being (Arumugam et al, 2021).
As Betaine is an osmolyte and improves cell hydration it works well synergistically with Creatine.
Gluten free and suitable for vegans.
Available in 200g packs.
