Rare Uncut Incunabula Page, Giovanni Nanni's "Fragments...Babylon", 1511. For sale is a rare uncut page from an incunabula. The piece measures 28.5X40cm and has 8 separate pages of text. If I am not mistaken it is from Giovanni Nanni's "Fragments of the Babylonian Historian Berosus" and was printed in 1510/11. It includes a nice little woodcut on what looks to be the title page. There is some damage along the one edge, and it is quite dirty and in need of cleaning. It was found, along with many other documents, within the boards of a large leather book that had had its pages cut out. A most unusual piece and I would think quite rare to find a sheet like this that has not been cut and bound.
