Type 9 Stanley No 8 Hand Plane. Fantastic condition for the age (the few minimal issues/things worth noting will be listed below), has had a slight restoration as it was my user and needed some love when I got it. It has been sharpened, tuned, sole is flat and works exactly as should, and presents fantastically without being stored in a time capsule for its 120 odd years of life. I'm only selling it as I've gotten hold of a number 8 Bedrock, which is a bit of collecter snobbery, but honestly it performs no better than this one but I can't justify keeping both.

The good: Aside from everything just being generally in really good nick, the knob and tote are great quality rosewood of correct period with absolutely no damage and have been refinished, the sole is flat in length and width (I've not held a straight edge up to it in the photos, but it is sweet), the body is solid with no cracks or repairs, brass is in top condition, the blade is flat/sharp and has plenty of length left in it, all the other fixings and parts are good.

Nuetral things worth noting: it has been stripped back and refinished with 2 coats of baked satin black enamel, the frog is a type 11 model (1910 ish) as the original on this was cracked, so too is the blade which is a V logo Stanley rather than the square logo one from the Type 9 model (I have the old one and you can switch the blade for that one if you'd like, but this blade is nicer than the original). There is some pitting on the right hand cheek of the body as can be seen in the photos (it's over a century old to be fair).

The bad: the only thing negative is that there is a hole in the sole where the heel screw of the tote has likely snapped off in the past, and during repair they've drilled through the sole when removing the old bolt (not ideal, but common and doesn't affect anything whatsoever). The hole (5mm or so) has been filled with grey epoxy, so it's not overly noticeable but if your ocd is bad you can tac weld it and file it off. I forgot to take a close up of this, but you can see it fairly well in the photos.
