YAMAHA's guitar manufacturing began in the 1960s, and in 1966 they established the Guitar Research Department, and in 1968 they incorporated Spanish manufacturing techniques to create a world-class Yamaha guitar.

In 1968, Yamaha invited Mr. Eduardo Ferrer, a guitar builder from Granada, Spain, to Hamamatsu, where he received guidance on guitar production from the beginning. At the time, Mr. Ferrer was an extremely talented engineer who created Jose Ramirez's A2 line. After Mr. Ferrer returned to Japan, he again invited Mr. Hernández y Aguado to receive technical guidance in 1973, and the basis for Yamaha's high-spec model GC series that continues today was established. Famous artists such as Mr. Suzuki, Mr. Tsuchiya, Mr. Kaneko, Mr. Kato, Mr. Ezaki, and Mr. Harada, who supported Yamaha's domestically produced high-quality guitars through the establishment of the Yamaha Guitar Research School and a series of technical guidance, and many production techniques. were raised.

This product is an all-veneer model GC-3 manufactured at the Yamaha Hamamatsu workshop in 1970 under the technical guidance of Mr. Ferrer, and there were also GC-5, GC-7, and GC-10 series.
In December 1968, Mr. Ferrer's guidance began, and at first the labels had the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS mark, but in 1970, as the guidance progressed, the JIS mark was removed from the labels.

The top is solid red spruce, the sides and back are solid rosewood, the neck is mahogany, the fingerboard is ebony, the lower bridge is rosewood, and there are anti-split sides. In addition, the tone is brilliant and powerful with the resolution typical of spruce, and the wide range, lustrous, and deep tone unique to rosewood.

With high-quality finishes and orthodox specifications that are faithful to the basics, it is easy to use for all play styles. We have also installed test strings so you can try it out right away.

For guitar enthusiasts, please consider purchasing the GC-3 Vintage Guitar, a monumental and historic guitar that served as the starting point for Yamaha.
