Poole Pottery Twin Tone Scallop Dish - Mushroom / Sepia C54 B - 1955-1959. Gorgeous Poole Pottery Scallop / Shell Dish from the very popular and sought after Twin Tone series.  This piece is the Mushroom / Sepia colourway - as noted on the back with the series identification number C54 B (B - shell). This piece was produced between 1955 - 1959, with this colourway being resigned from production in the 1980's. Poole is known for it's unusual muted colour combinations, and lovely matt glaze which has an almost velvety appearance to it, this scallop dish presents beautifully, without any chips, cracks, crazing or discolouration.  On very close inspection and holding the dish on an angle, there are some surface scratches on the inside base (see photos). This looks to be from normal wear and tear.. and fits with the age of the piece. If using as a decorative object, or adding to a growing collection, these marks are not visible (unless looking for them). Just a gorgeous piece.
