What kind of steel are you using ?
We are using a food-compliant stainless steel known as French Z40C13 or 440. All Deejo blades feature a 52 to 54 HRC (Hardness Rockwell C-Scale). It is hard and sharp enough to guarantee a long lasting cut for everyday use (to cut food, paper, small ropes…) and not too hard so that you can re-sharpen it easily, even on the go.
My knife is made of stainless steel but it rusts.
Stainless steel rusts if not dried properly after each use. Any metal is subject to humidity, and it is your responsibility to take care of your knife.
Which length for which weight?
Deejo knives are named after their weight and come in 3 corresponding sizes: the 15G is 7 cm, the 27G is 9 cm, and the 37G is 11 cm.
My knife was presented to me as a 9 cm and it measure 20.5 cm overall.
Knives makers usually measures pocket knives in their closed position. A 9 cm knife means a 9 cm handle.
Where are Deejo knives made?
Deejo is a French based company. Designed by Stephane Lebeau in Paris, France, these knives are made in China on our own premises to bring you the best product at the most competitive price. Crafted with the utmost care and with respect to both people and the environment, Deejo are handmade in our 20-year-old factory.
Where do your materials come from?
The stainless steel we use comes from various steel makers depending on demand & supply (Germany, France, Japan, China, India,...)
The wooden slabs come from European forests (juniper and olive tree wood) or local forest (rosewood, zebra wood, granadilla wood) under the strict supervision of Deejo. Even if using a very small quantity of wood, we verify compliance to the current standard of wood supply.
Warranty
The Deejo lifetime warranty protects the original customer from defect in material or workmanship. Damages from normal wear and tear, alterations, misuse, neglect, accident, or service by non-authorized service centers are not covered under this warranty. In case of anomaly, please return your Deejo to an authorized dealer.
Is it legal to carry a pocket knife ?
It depends on the legislation of your country. Please check with your local authorities. Deejo pocket knives are two-hand opening, which makes them legal to carry in most countries as long as you have a “good reason” to carry them (camping, a picnic, or a hike). It is recommended to carry your pocket knife out of public view when not in use and to avoid carrying pocket knives in places such as official or government buildings, night clubs, or stadiums where they may be considered inappropriate for the venue.
The Deejo Story Luc Foin and Stéphane Lebeau's desire to (re)kindle the pleasure of having a knife in your pocket when you need one has led to the lightest, most elegantly designed knife in decades. "When we invented an ultra-light pocket knife weighing little more than a letter in 2010, we had no idea it would be such a hit. Our knife was originally designed for Baladeo and geared to the hiking
