Seller: diveanywhere (300) 99.1%, Location: Lambton, NSW, Ships to: AU, Item: 192464402608 Two classic style bottles from Australia's colonial past would look brilliant in any collection or as a display on any bar, den or poolroom. The taller bottle features "black glass" - glass tinted with iron-making slag that is left looking black except when light passes through it. This bottle has been "spun" moulded and the top applied later. Both these bottles would have been stoppered with a cork. The "skittle" shaped beer bottle dates to the 1860s when a shortage of beer bottles caused them to be imported from China. The bottle is loaded with imperfections - air bubbles, creases and even a dent in the glass. I post positive feedback once paid and appreciate positive feedback in return once you purchase arrives - please take the time to leave feedback. In the event of issues, Australia Post breakages please contact me. The Dive Anywhere project dives historic sites in NSW from Sydney to the North Coast. These bottles have been recovered during hundreds of dives in often muddy deep water. We only sell bottles of types we don't collect or those that we have a number of. These sales fund our project.
