Up for sale is a Schrade made in USA 136 Rope or Hawser, Open Stock knife,
The handle is made from Cocobolo with a steel bail on the end.
The blade is 85mm long and is a flat ground square end made of 1095 high carbon steel. The blade is etched "Lineman's Skinning and Scraping Knife, for Removing Insulation fron Copper Wire" .
The tang stamp is: "Schrade NY USA 136" . The closed length is 112mm.
The bolsters and liners are made from steel, while the pins are brass.
The production period for this knife was: 1953~1975 . Schrade Walden up to 1973, then the tang stamp changed to “Schrade” . This is a super example of a 163, which doesn't appear to have been used.
