Rare MYOTT Chelsea Bird Vegetable Bowl Covered Burgundy Red Bowl Myotts Royal Crown Staffordshire England Chelsea Large Round Covered Bowl

 

 

Rare and beautiful, highly decorative and collectible Myotts Staffordshire England large covered vegetable serving dish/bowl. The bowls are designed in the Red Chelsea bird pattern that was popular in the 1920s-30s and discontinued in the 1950s. Marked on base 'Myotts Royal Crown Staffordshire England'. The bottom of the bowl is also embossed with 'Myott England' mark. The color of the bowls is cream and burgundy with multicolored exotic birds. The bowl is gold gilded and looks just beautiful. The bowls are in absolutely  excellent condition. I think the bowl was used only for decorative purposes. There are some minor factory rough surface spots but no cracks. The burgundy trim on the bowl and the lid has white spots, which I think is also a result of the manufacturing process while working with ceramics. The bowl measures 9.8 inches across the bowl in diameter including two handles, 8.5 inches in diameter the cover, approximately 6.5 inches tall with the lid handle. This vegetable bowl will complete your Chelsea Bird set and will also make a beautiful gift!  

 

On Replacements (high end) when they show up they are at the $250 AUD level. I $200 to $250 AUD is a  reasonable value based on actual sales in the marketplace.
