Description
The Malossi 210 Sport is an ideal base for a powerful, high-torque engine with a wide rpm band. It can be run with stock components without any problems.
The new MK2 Sport 2021 version has a bolted steel exhaust flange compared to the old Sport cylinder. This is a two-piece design and allows for much easier machining of the exhaust port as well as simple replacement of the flange. The piston, manufactured by Vertex (previously ASSO), has a molybdenum sulfide bonded coating on the piston skirt. The new piston is shorter, so it can be used with 60mm long stroke shafts without any modification to the piston. Furthermore, the windows in the piston have been enlarged to better fit the scavenging layout of the cylinder.
The timing angles have not changed compared to the first generation of the sport cylinder. They remain pleasantly low at approx. 115°/174° and also allow lazy shifting.
Thanks to the cleverly conceived overcurrent design, the cylinder can rev wide despite high torque in the low and mid ranges.

The thermally always core-healthy Malossi is supported by a very well designed cylinder head
With a tight squish dimension and a slightly negative squish angle in the outer rim zone, it is powerful while cooling the sensitive piston rim zone. Aluminum as the cylinder material relieves the cylinder thermally and allows a compression ratio of 12.5:1. The resulting high medium pressure allows the engine to hang on the throttle very well over the entire speed range and always conveys a power surplus.
