Good afternoon from Congers, NY.  I was out at the sales tyesterday and purchased some wonderful silver from the UK.  I have 3 spoons ready to list in the next few days.  This auction is for the Keating spoon only; the other spoons shown in the last photo will be in their own auctions. Large divided strainer spoon by Michael Keating I of Dublin, Ireland.  Spoon is 12.5" overall length.  Bowl is roughly 2" wide at the widest.  The central strainer is in excellent condition with no sign of repair.  The spoon is decorated with a lion rampant; the decoration is rubbed/faded.  Small "ding" in edge of spoon near lion rampant decoration. Spoon weighs in at appx. 3.62 oz troy on my digital scale.  Marked on reverse - "T" (date letter in shield; I believe this is the date letter for 1767), ("Crowned Harp") (Dublin) ("Hibernia") (duty mark), and "MK" (rubbed, but legible). Offered for sale at $599.76 (rare, Irish, large, early, lovely condition, really no excuses; the price is fair).
