Swaddle Blankets

Swaddling is the ancient method of snugly wrapping up your baby to help him feel safe and secure. Being wrapped up can stop your baby from being disturbed by his own startle reflex. You may have noticed your baby doing little jerks of his body when he's sleeping. These jerks are his startle reflex (hypnagogic startles) and are completely normal. Swaddling your baby can also help to settle him down when he's over-stimulated.

How to swaddle your baby:

* Spread the Muslin Blanket on a flat surface and fold down the top right corner about 15cm (6in). * Lay your baby on his back with his head on the fold. * Pull the corner near your baby's left hand across his body. Tuck the leading edge under his right arm and around under his back. * Pull the bottom corner up under your baby's chin. * Bring the right-hand corner over and tuck it under his back on the left side. * Some babies prefer to have their arms free, in which case just swaddle your baby under his arms.

When to stop swaddling

You should stop swaddling your baby as soon as he starts rolling over onto his tummy during sleep. If he s swaddled when he is older he may have difficulties breathing. As he gets older he will start to move around more during sleep, and swaddling could make him uncomfortable and likely to wake up.

Our Picnic Pal characters

- are inspired by classic children's toys; but re-imagined using the finest eco-friendly materials available. Our founder, Angie Ting, set out to create a collection of eco-friendly products for her two young children. Angie's vision was bold; motivated by concern for infant health, the environment and the ecological impact of conventional farming. In 2009 she formed a partnership with Pate International, a highly respected San Francisco design firm with a rich heritage of environmentally conscious projects. Susan Pate, along with her daughter Chloe Pate, helped her realise her dream. Together they created Apple Park ...and the rest...is history.

Orders are shipped at the earliest possible date after your order has been confirmed. We ask that you allow approximately a week for delivery, although that is naturally dependant upon the destination. We are in S E Qld. Parcels to Western Australia always take a week in transit, so there will be a longer wait if you are in that state. While we do our best to ship orders as soon as absolutely possible, once we hand a package off to Australia Post we have NO control over how fast it gets to you or in what shape it will arrive. Please keep in mind that the Post Office does not guarantee they will deliver packages in any specified time frame, unless Express Post is requested. We are not in a guaranteed Express zone, but it will be the fastest possible transport. Express Post charges are not practical on large items, and we reserve the right to adjust the amount after calculation to your postcode, so please ensure you check with us PRIOR to requesting the Express option.. The majority of our larger items have registration/insurance included in the shipping as our bonus to you. We also frequently use Courier for larger items.
