Seller: chelseaacquisitions (526) 100%, Location: Kellyville, NSW, Ships to: AU, Item: 173971387263 You are bidding on an original 19th Century French Antique Cherub Comtoise Wall Clock c.1800's with Lyre Pendulum. I am a collector of French antiques and have acquired this clock for decorative purposes until the next owner purchases to cherish and admire. It is in all original condition with a nice white enamel dial with black enamel painted roman numerals and calendar numerals, 2 winding arbours, brass hands and pressed brass decorative clock face surround. The clock surround to the top depicts a cherub seated next to a dog with further classical motifs across to each corner and a further putti to each side. The adjustable pendulum in brass to the base is of Lyre form. It has the original heavy weights and complete brass movement. The bronze bell to the top of the clock strikes the number of hours and on the half hour. It has the third hand to keep the calendar days. Although in working order (it runs for a few minutes before stopping) this clock has been used as a display piece and would likely require a service by a clock-maker to function as a timekeeping clock. It comes complete with the original crank key. Note there are a few crazing's to the enamel as can be seen in the photos, which are only noticeable up close. Measures 140 cm tall x 35 cm across x 16 cm deep.Weight ~14 kg Please note that you will need to install brackets if you wish to mount this clock on your wall. I have used 2 heavy duty angle brackets 100 mm x 125 mm x 25 mm from Bunnings (Item #: 9 314622 774777). I also used Ramset spring toggle cavity fasteners but you could use dyna-bolts if you have a brick wall. The brackets act like a shelf which the clock sits on. Postage and packaging is $50 flat to 50 km radius of Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth or pickup is available from Kellyville, Sydney 2155. Please message me for quotes to all other areas. Please note that my preferred courier cannot deliver to a PO Box and will require a street address.
