T-Tape is much kinder to books that the off-the-shelf alternatives which should never be used due to their adverse effect on the item you are trying to save. You've probably handled books repaired with gaffer tape? It leaves a horrible gooey adhesive residue which is difficult to remove and in many cases damages them forever. You've seen books and documents repaired with sellotape? The tape has degraded, yellowed, cracked and left a yellow/brown acidic mark on the very thing it was supposed to mend. This is why you shouldn't use these materials for these tasks, they were not made to do this. Our specialist tapes are very easy to use. The tape is made of cloth with an acid-free adhesive on the other side and is mounted onto a removable paper backing. Simply measure the length you require, trim with scissors or a craft knife, remove the paper backing and position it onto the repair area and use a little pressure to smooth it and to fully activate the adhesive. We recommend that you use a bone folder for this task although it isn't absolutely required.  The tapes are sold in 1 metre (39 inch) lengths and 3 widths -  3cm / 1.18 inch for pamphlets, board games and very slim books 5cm / 1.96 inch for paperbacks 8cm / 3.14 inch for large books such as bibles and dictionaries The tapes are sent flat and folded. You may notice that on receiving these that there is a crease in the cloth where it's been folded, however this will be not permanent and will disappear when applied to the book you're repairing.  Online instructions and our contact details are available on our website, details of which are printed on the packaging.
