Polyester Resin Kit for Fibreglass - 5 Ltr.
Polyester Resin Kits - contain high 'tradesmen' quality resin from either Australian or imported suppliers. (Polyester Resin Kit is supplied with MEKP hardener). Polyester resins are the most commonly used matrix in the marine and composite industry. These resins are styrene-based, flammable and catalyzed when combined with Methol Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP). When working with these resins in large projects it is advised to use goggles, gloves and a chemical respirator to protect yourself from the fumes. These resins can be used with any type of fibreglass, carbon fibre or kevlar, as well as used over urethane foams and other sandwich core materials. These resins tend to be fairly rigid when cured and also more brittle than epoxy resins.
Directions for use: Mix resin and hardener in the ratio shown on the label and apply to saturate Fibreglass Cloth, Chopped Strand Mat or other materials. Coverage: It takes about 250 grams of resin to saturate a meter square of Fibreglass Cloth (200gram weight) or about 1 kilogram of resin to saturate 1 square meter of Chopped Strand Mat (450 gram weight). Cleaning up: Clean all brushes, rollers and fibreglass tools with Acetone.
