Seller: murtoan (11,739) 100%, Location: Murtoa home of the famous Stick Shed, NW Vic., Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 143494174568 This is fantastic piece of horse racing memorabilia. Fabulous talking point and would look great in ANY garden. It is VERY heavy and VERY old. All works OK and is complete. Apparently it came from Flemington Racecourse many years ago when they up-graded their turnstiles to more modern ones. It is in working order - but the top patron counter (under the heavy brass plate on top) has lost a re-set button. It is not original anyway - added later to count. There is a large brass tin inside a cast door as shown to hold all the coins paid for entry. Was lockable - but key long gone. When paid, the 'operator' simply stands on the lower lever to release the catch holding the big arms on the central turnstile, which then rotated to let patrons through. I doubt there would be another of these about on the open market in Australia?? It belongs in a museum, but it is here today for your only chance at owning such a fabulous piece of Victorian horse racing. What a fabulous addition to a stable, or training place - or even Flemington Racecourse itself. Be the lucky winner and boast about this item for the rest of life. It does need some TLC and a new paint job, but will look fantastic after that. NO cast iron damage. Base is complete too. Whole item is VERY heavy as stated. Must be picked up here. Strictly NO delivery but could assist in pick-up by courier if needed. It weighs a few hundred kilos - so be warned. These things were made to last a few lifetimes. It is located in the Wimmera, near Horsham. It is about 3'6" high and wide and about 3' front to back (across the arm and front. This will NOT be re-listed again - NOT giving this item away. I'll keep it!
