Octagonal porcelain dish from the East India Company, decorated with the coat of arms of the English Hall* family, marli decorated with a polychrome and gilded frieze of fruit clusters and bamboo leaves, from the Qianlong 18th century period.

This dish is in its own juice. A note: crack, break and restoration, some wear on the decorations and enamel defects, see photos.

* This coat of arms was worn by the Hall family, from Grantham to Lincoln , and Sussex, particularly by Joseph Hall who was bishop of Norwich then George Hall, bishop of Chester. This service appears to have been commissioned for Richard Hall of Hatton Gardens in London, who was a director of the East India Company and died in November 1786.
