This is a very decorative and highly collectible Venetian Italian art glass vase / Zanfirico glass vase which shows a beautiful shape with waved rim and design with the typical multi color glass threads / Reticella; a beautiful piece in an excellent original condition as a fine addition for your collection!

VENINI PAOLO, Murano, Italy, glass designer (1895-1959), glass manufacture. In 1925 Giacomo Cappellin (1887-1968) founded together with Vittorio Zecchin Maestri Vetrai Muranesi Cappellin e C. In 1928 they manufactured together with Napoleone Martinuzzi (1892-1977) design glass sculptures and glass vases glass threads decorations. Following artists designed for Murano glass: Vico Magistretti, Barbara del Mendini, Alessandro and Ettore Sottsass, Timo Sarpaneva and Marco Zanini, Bellini, Emmanuel, Feldermann, Stanley, Luchese, Francesco .. Since 1995 the Gardini family has been cooperating with Royal Copenhagen, Georg Jensen and the lighting manufacture Flos.
Zanfirico is a technique invented by glass makers on the Venetian island of Murano , Italy. Zanfirico glass consists of fine filigree canes which have been stretched and twisted to form beautiful lattice patterns. The name Zanfirico derives from the surname of a 19th century Italian art dealer, Antonio Sanquirico , however the Zanfirico technique has been used as far back as the 16th century, when it was originally known as 'Filigrana a Retortoli '. Many Murano glass manufacturers use Zanfirico canes in their glassware production, including Venini , Aureliano Toso , Fratelli Toso , etc AVeM .
