The Oracle of Gaia is a game of guidance and positive affirmations created by Toni Carmine Salerno. It has been published since 2012 by Editions Véga.

Toni Carmine Salerno is an intuitive artist born in Australia. Her works are charged with emotion and her favorite subjects are the Mother Goddess Gaia (the feminine principle), nature, the universe, angels, humanity, spirituality, philosophy and healing energies. He is also the author of several other oracles such as “The Oracle of the Crystals”, “The oracle of the Archangel Michael – the blue angel”, “Heart and soul”, “The little oracle of the guardian angels”, “The little Oracle of the Angels”, “The oracle of the path paved with gold”, “The oracle of the Angels, Goddesses and God”, “Ask your angel”. The safe

The box is made of rigid, colored, glossy cardboard. It is sturdy and measures 17.3 x 12.7 x 3.4 cm. It contains a large 84-page booklet in box format (color cover and black and white content) and a deck of 45 glossy, gold-edged cards.

The cards

The cards are large and, if you have small hands, you may need to shuffle them vertically. They measure 13.9 x 9.5 cm and slide correctly together. All the cards are illustrated with the works of Toni Carmine Salerno, for the greatest pleasure of the eyes. Her creations are always colorful, contrasting, frank, symbolic and feature nature, flora, the (female) body, the elements and portraits. The cards are thick and the glossy medium really highlights his designs.

All illustrations are framed with a border of approximately 7mm in a pastel color ranging from yellow to very light pink, including beige (depending on the cards) and also with another small gold-colored frame of approximately 1mm. The name of the card is at the bottom with key words summarizing the themes covered. And we will also find a numbering at the top of the card. The back of the cards shows card n°12 “Sacred Heart”. The cards cannot easily be used in reverse and this is good because this method is not necessary in this game.

The game offers to receive messages from Gaia in order to find serenity, peace, healing (psychological and spiritual) in our life by accompanying you on your life path. Thus, each card is accompanied by a message and advice linked to its theme and a positive affirmation that can be repeated if necessary and which takes up the main themes mentioned in this card. There are several topics covered related to spiritual, emotional, psychological and daily life. So we will find cards on these themes: new beginnings, creativity, emotions, personal power, our inner guide, sharing, solitude, rebirth, emotional bonds, love, purification, doubts and fears, sadness, regeneration, harmony, balance…etc. But always in a constructive way.

This game is mainly about guidance, however the author also designed it to be able to predict the future. This is not its primary function, but it is true that the themes covered can lend themselves to this type of use even if the overall structure of the deck is not completely designed for this purpose (missing archetypes/themes). In fact we touch here on the tenuous border that there is sometimes between guidance and clairvoyance. That is to say concepts that are sufficiently open and adaptable to multiple interpretations as well as a fairly complete range of themes. Even if this is often the case in certain guidance oracles, here it is more obvious. However, predictions will be more about states of mind, emotions, energies and global events rather than very precise predictions. This is not the primary function of this game and if you are a beginner, you will certainly have a little difficulty doing this exercise.

On the other hand, I think these cards are a very good meditation support if the illustrations attract you.
