Here's a quick comparison of our design vs. other shrouds you may find:
Ours | Theirs | Benefit | |
---|---|---|---|
Material | High temperature ABS | PLA | ABS can better withstand the hot exhaust air from the ASICs, which can reach 90 degrees or more. PLA has a glass transition temperature (point at which it softens) of around 60°C-65°C, while ABS is around 105°C. This means that an ABS part will be a lot more durable in the punishing environment of an Antminer exhaust. If a vendor doesn't specify the material, it will likely be PLA, since it is much easier to print large items. |
Flange design | Negative taper flange | Straight flange | Negative taper flanges increase the retention pressure when the duct is pulled, making it less likely that duct will come loose. |
Base design | Thicker base with replacement screws | Thinner base with recessed OEM screws | With more support material, our base is less likely to break where the screws attach. |
General design | Few sharp internal edges | Many sharp internal edges | Sharp internal edges concentrate forces on the shroud, making it more likely to break at these points. |
Accessories | Duct ties included | No duct ties included | Duct ties aren't expensive, but it is one extra thing you need to buy, and they generally come in packs of 50 when you only need one. We save you the hassle of tracking down a sufficiently long duct tie. |
Extensions | Compatible with our Antminer A3/X3/L3+/D3 Cowls | Incompatible with our cowls | Our cowls have been specifically designed to work in conjunction with our shrouds to mount securely with our cowls, without having the screws penetrate too far into the machine. |
Item | Price | Direction | Usage |
---|---|---|---|
100mm Fan Shroud | $16.00 | Intake/Exhaust | Never, unless you have ideal situations, high backpressure can result in overheating |
125mm Fan Shroud | $18.00 | Intake/Exhaust | Short (<1m), relatively straight duct runs |
150mm Fan Shroud | $20.00 | Intake/Exhaust | Longer or curvy duct runs, Antminers mounted on shelves where the duct can sit below the bottom of the machine |
150mm Flat Mount Fan Shroud | $20.00 | Intake/Exhaust | Longer or curvy duct runs, Antminers mounted on the floor, or other situations where the low duct position causes mounting problems |
150mm 9 Vane Laminar Flow Fan Shroud | $25.00 | Exhaust | Longer, relatively straight duct runs, where you want the most airflow possible. The exhaust fan should have 9 support vanes (contact me if you need an 8 vane version) |
Antminer D3/L3+ Cowl | $15.00 | Exhaust | Used to capture & extract hot air from the upper vents of the Antminer D3 & L3+, used in conjunction with one of the above shrouds |
Antminer A3/X3 Cowl | $15.00 | Exhaust | Used to capture & extract hot air from the upper vents of the Antminer A3 & X3, used in conjunction with one of the above shrouds |
As well as Paypal, I also accept cryptocurrency payments. Please choose "other" as the payment method, then leave me a message stating which currency you would like to pay in (BTC, BCH, ETH or LTC). I will respond with the amount (based on the current Coingecko price) and the wallet to transfer to.
