OBJECT DESCRIPTION: GIGANTIC CHANDELIER "BIG APPLE" , 21-LIGHTS WITH 264 LARGE BLOWN GLASS BALLS , LBL 1962, UNKNOWN DESIGNER German design from the 60s and 70s is leaving the world some valuable modern classics. This large chandelier lamp design from the VEB Leipzig (formerly KANDEM ) originally graced the large dining hall of the spa Bad Sulza in an ensemble of 12 units and later the St. Maurice Church . There are only 3 copies, survived the passage of time. One is presented here. The offered lamp is one of the largest of east german design . The diameter is 3,3 feet, the glass body is 2 feet high and the maximal height is 7,2 feet . The chandelier weighs about 110 pounds. The 264 hand-blown and formed glass balls are perfect, arranged on 4 levels. There are 10 large (2,75 inches ) and 5 small (2 inches ) additional ones included as a backup . The condition of the lamp body is excellent with minimal paint damage. The technical condition has been tested and is perfect.Our “darlings” are carefully packaged and sent off within a week in solid wooden boxes (lightbulbs not included).
