MY STORY
When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 I chose to have a port-a-cath inserted in my chest. A Port-a-cath is a devise inserted under the skin to give IV fluids, blood transfusions, chemotherapy and other drugs. This was an alternative to having a catheter put in my arm each visit. It was the best choice for me but along with this came the pain from recovery and now the pain from seatbelts rubbing on the port. I started by making a cup shape with my hand to cover the port and stop the seatbelt from rubbing. I then tried rolled up tissues or clothing. Finally I found Port Pillows design. The soft padding meant I didn't have to hold the seatbelt and my port was safe and comfy.
