Seller: onlybitters (181) 100%, Location: Fairfield Melbourne, Ships to: AU, Item: 172367842924 Small Hand Foods Yeoman's Tonic Syrup 518ml Country of origin: USA Alcohol content: 0% Alcohol by Volume Tonic syrup, historically called quinquina or calisaya, contains quinine from the cinchona tree. Originally from Peru, when quinine was discovered to ward off malaria, colonizers quickly smuggled cinchona cuttings back to Europe, India and Indonesia. The British began adding tonic syrup to gin to help disguise the bitterness, and then developed a taste for the mixture, thus leading the way for the Gin & Tonic we love today. Finely cut bark simmered in organic cane syrup yields earthy flavors and an amber color. This the newest addition to the Small Hand Foods collection. It is a unique tonic syrup created to pair perfectly with Beefeater Gin. The ceremonial guards at the Royal Palace and Tower of London, popularly known as "Beefeaters," are formally the Yeoman Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London. In a nod to Beefeater, they've taken the liberty of borrowing the name Yeoman for their Yeoman Tonic Syrup. Inspired by Beefeater's pioneering founder James Burrough, this syrup was developed in collaboration with eminent master distiller Desmond Payne to produce flavors that complement Beefeater Gin using the highest quality whole aromatics. Less bitter than the original Tonic Syrup, YeomanTonic boosts the citrus profile to accentuate the ingredients used in Beefeater Gin, and, as always, red cinchona bark provides an earthy spine and amber color. Mixing Notes: Add 1/2 ounce to a highball glass with 2 1/2 ounces of soda water, a shot of your spirit of choice and ice; top with a lemon or lime slice. Ingredients: Water, organic cane sugar, organic lemon juice, gentian extract, citric acid. Traces of: cinchona bark, organic orange peel, organic lemon peel, ceylon cinnamon. Contains quinine. Please refrigerate after opening. Once opened, a bottle of Small Hand Foods syrup can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on storage conditions. Temperature, frequent opening and closing, and local bacteria and yeasts can all affect the life of an opened bottle of syrup. Kept refrigerated and used only now and then, as they might be in someone's home, syrups may last a couple months. Kept at room temperature and used frequently, as they would be in a bar setting, bottles will usually last a couple of weeks. In either case, it's easy to tell when syrup has gone off: if it develops mold, gets fizzy, or smells like cider vinegar, throw it out. Our syrups are made from food, so treat them as such and your cocktail experience will benefit! SHIPPING RETURNS CONTACT US--> PAYMENT We can ship to any address in Australia.
