Sarpaneva was one  of the pioneers who put Finland at the forefront of design in the mid-20th century. His designs, which have since become classics, are now more popular than ever.

When the Finnish  designer Timo Sarpaneva (1926-2006) designed the  Festivo  series for the manufacturer iittala in 1966, he had no idea that he had just created an absolutely timeless design. The sculptural forms of the candle holder combined with the rough surface of the glass paved the way for design far beyond the Finnish borders.
