(Ref L537) Here we have... A VINTAGE hand painted lobster or crayfish dish , made by the  CARLTON WARE  pottery company, Staffordshire, England . It features a colourful hand painted  LOBSTER or other crustacean on an embossed cabbage leaf. It bears a b ackstamp and styling that indicate a manufacture date of around 1940+. Measures c. 28 cm long x 17 cm wide.  Weighs 400 grams before packing. DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY! NO major CHIPS; NO CRACKS; NO REPAIRS. Coloured enamels strong and no fading. There is a very small fleabite to the edge of the leaf . Very hard to see unless pointed out. (See pic #2) and light fritting along the edge. The dish also has the usual light crazing. It is a collectable and dramatic piece of CARLTON WARE that would look great on a table filled with prawns or other seafood!
