Baltic amber provides your young child with a drug-free natural product that has been worn for centuries in Europe and Asia by children.

Baltic amber is the fossilized resin of ancient pine trees that grew 40-60 million years ago in Northern Europe around the Baltic sea. As the prehistoric climate warmed the trees started exuding large amounts of resin. Over the millions of years, the resin oxidized forming the amber that we know today.

By wearing amber against the skin your child is allowing the amber to release natural oils onto his or her skin that are circulated into the bloodstream.

You will receive a hand-made necklace or bracelet created from genuine Baltic amber by an experienced artisan.

Our necklaces are between 32cm and 36cm and our bracelets are between 13cm and 15cm because every amber bead and every necklace and bracelet is unique and each one varies slightly in length (please check that this will be a comfortable size for your child, and let us know if you need something shorter or longer when purchasing).

Are amber necklaces safe?

Our amber necklaces and bracelets are very safe. They are made specifically for children in the safest way using a traditional design.

For both the necklaces and bracelets, every bead is individually knotted and the necklaces are run on a firm silky thread with a slight stretch. Plastic screw clasps are used which are widely regarded as being safer than metallic or silk clasps.

When should my child start wearing amber?

It is best to have your child start wearing their amber from a young age so that they become used to the feel and don't have the urge to tug or bite on them; from as early as 36 months old (by Australia law we are not allowed to and are not advertising this amber product for children under 36 months old).

Can my child wear the necklace and bracelet while sleeping?

It is recommended to only wear the necklace or bracelet under direct supervision. Amber works when it is in contact with the skin so you can still use the necklace or bracelet at night as an anklet or at the bottom of their sock as they sleep.

Can my child wear the necklace and bracelet in the bath?

Yes you can, but prolonged exposure to water can weaken the thread of the item.

Can an amber necklace be worn together with other amber items?

Yes it can, your child can wear any number of child amber items such as our necklaces and bracelets/anklets at the same time and in fact the more amber that is worn the stronger the effect.

How long will the necklaces and bracelets last?

If you take good care of your necklaces and bracelets, they will last and become treasured family heirlooms to pass down in the family .
