You will struggle to find an All Solid Wood violin of this quality for this price! It has fine tuners on all strings which are essential for good tuning. We also have a great set-up and tuning video for beginners. These Violins come fully strung, set-up and ready to play from the factory, you just need to tune them and apply the rosin to the bow. (We have support material on how to do this.)
If you need a tuner our Artist TN50 clip on Tuner is a great choice to add to your order.
After following the above instructions, use the measurement and the sizing chart below to determine the proper violin size.

A beginner instrument needs not be perfect, but it needs to be correct. This instrument is not perfect. But it is correct. Therefore it is suitable for complete beginners. I bought this violin on September 2015 as a complete dummy violinist. Now having more experience with other high-end more expensive violins I could confidently say this violin is very good value for that amount of money. The accompanied shoulder rest is of very good quality too. If you are a low-budget complete beginner not knowing whether to pursue the violin in the long term, then this budget instrument is near perfect for you. Two biggest downsides of this violin is 1-the notes on D and G strings sound a little fuzzy and muffled (which could be a little bit of discouragement to beginners - but I haven't tried replacing those strings) and 2-the fine-tuner on E string is a bit hard to tune. The strong points of this violin: A and E strings can't sound better for this money, the bridge come fully set-up ready to play (which is extraordinarily rare for cheap factory violins), the pegs hold the tune well (again, rare), string height is correct (rare, again), the price is cheap, the free shoulder rest is great, the bow is not crappy, and the case is lovely. All things considered, I would highly recommend this violin to someone who is a complete beginner, has limited budget and does not know whether to stick with violin for long. A serious learner practicing everyday would probably outgrow the capabilities of this instrument in 1-1.5 years or so; don't expect it to sound as great as a 500-dollar gliga, but what else can you ask for with a 100-buck complete violin pack? I never regret buying this violin as a starter from Artist Guitars.

Similar to what Geoff wrote, the tuning pegs slip frequently and the E string fine tuner is almost impossible to move. For $120, you get good value and it's great to learn on. It's a little frustrating to tune sometimes, and I find the humidity plays a role in how it sounds and how much the pegs slip, but pushing them in while tuning seems to help sometimes. As for the fine tuner on the E string, i've got cuts on my thumb and finger trying to turn it, so I'm not sure what the problem is but it looks like it's recurring. No problems with the others though.

We're quite happy with this, although it has had a couple of minor issues. We had trouble tuning it initially, because the tuning pegs kept slipping until we learned to push them in when tightening them. The fine tuner on the E string has seized completely, so we're going to need to take the string off and hit it with some lubricant to see if we can get it to move again. Sound wise though, it sounds pretty good, and my wife is very happy with it and looking forward to learning to play it properly.
