Title
Apollo 13 'Flown Lunar Module "Aquarius" Utility Light Cable Fragment' - Crew; James Lovell and Jack Swigert [with numbered Certificate of Authenticity]
Description.
Please understand this offering is extremely RARE:
An Apollo 13 'Flown Lunar Module "Aquarius" Utility Light Cable Fragment' - Crew; James Lovell and Jack Swigert [with numbered Certificate of Authenticity] and flown to the Moon!
Apollo 13 had launched April 11th 1970. Apollo 13 almost turned into a disaster when an oxygen tank exploded and forced the crew to abort the lunar landing mission goal. Apollo 13 was the first and only mission to use a 'free return trajectory' to fly around the moon and return safely back to earth.
James Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert proved the effectiveness of the crew training along with ground personnel in a 'fantastic' example of Crew Resource Management.
This presentation includes a FLOWN piece of webbing material that was installed in the Lunar Module "Aquarius" which became the rescue ship for the Apollo 13 crew - only a few artifacts from the lunar module are in existence for obvious reasons!
The Crew had to abandon their 'Life Boat Aquarius ' as they approached Re-Entry back to the Earth. Aquarius had no ability to survive Re-Entry and was destroyed. Some items from the Lunar Module Aquarius survived because 'weight' had to be transferred from the Lunar Module Aquarius to the Command Module Odyssey .
The reason the Command Module was too underweight to maintain the correct re-entry angles was due to no Moon Rocks being acquired by Apollo 13!
The necessary weight transfer from Aquarius to Odyssey is the reason these Lunar Module (LM) Aquarius fragments are here today.
The complete source webbing piece was obtained from NASA technician WR Whipkey who certified it as originally presented to the ground support teams after the Apollo 13 flight. A copy of WR Whipkey CoA comes with this offering.
This offering is part of the Apollo 13, Lunar Module Aquarius Utility Light Cable, Webbing, Wiring and Command Module Columbia Heatshield series featured within this store 'Space and Aviation Firsts Australia' which has 100+ customer reviews with 100% positive feedback.

Mission Profile. [source Wikipedia]
Apollo 13: was the seventh manned mission in the Apollo space program and the third intended to land on the moon. The craft was launched on April 11, 1970, at 13:13 CST (19:13 UTC) from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, but the lunar landing was aborted after an oxygen tank exploded two days later, crippling the Service Module (SM) upon which the Command Module (CM) had depended. Despite great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and the critical need to make makeshift repairs to the carbon dioxide removal system, the crew returned safely to EARTH on April 17, 1970, six days after launch.
The flight passed the far side of the Moon at an altitude of 254 kilometers (137 nautical miles) above the lunar surface, and 400,171 km (248,655 mi) from Earth, a spaceflight record marking the farthest humans have ever travelled from Earth. The mission was commanded by James A Lovell with John L. “Jack” Swigert as Command Module Pilot and Fred W. Haise as Lunar Module Pilot. Swigert was a late replacement for the original CM pilot Ken Mattingly, who was grounded by the flight surgeon after exposure to German Measles.
The story of the Apollo 13 mission has been dramatized multiple times, most notably in the 1995 film Apollo 13.

Collectors’ Hint 1 – Acquisition of ‘Rare’ Historical Offerings!
I learnt a long time to obtain 'rare' offerings when they appear as I lost out on a few key Historical Mission Pieces due to hesitating.
One was an X-15 photograph signed by 11 of the 12 surviving X-15 Pilots, one being Neil Armstrong. I have never seen the offer again during the past 25 years.
I suggest when an opportunity presents itself, make the decision for your collection and act!
Remember! Spacecraft; flown spacecraft artifacts and signed art for Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Vostok, Space Shuttles and X-Series Aircraft are extremely collectable especially with the 50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing by Apollo 11 in 2019 with further Apollo Flight anniversaries following.

Conclusion
A magnificent World, U.S., NASA and Apollo Program historical ‘flown’ artifact, stunningly presented.
An authentic Apollo 13 'Flown Lunar Module "Aquarius" Utility Light Cable Fragment' - Crew; James Lovell and Jack Swigert [with numbered Certificate of Authenticity] and flown to the Moon! From NASA's "Finest Moment" the greatest true space survival story of the 20th Century!
Only six Apollo Missions orbited the Moon and each landed two Astronauts on the Lunar Surface. Apollo 13 was meant to be the 3rd. The 5th manned Apollo journey to the Moon [after Apollos 8, 10, 11, and 12] with the unfortunate circumstance of the Command Module 'Oxygen Tank' rupturing caused a 'Space Emergency' watched by the World for three days as the Crew and NASA fought to bring back the entire Apollo 13 Crew alive.
This is a 'Lifetime' gift and/or treasure for any serious Space enthusiast. Please order now so that you do not miss out!
