Dietes grandiflora Common names: Large Wild
Iris, Fairy Iris, African Lily The Fairy Iris is fast growing which makes it ideal for use in areas
that need to be established rapidly. It is also drought, frost and salt resistant. Suitable to poorly drained soil. Basically, you can’t kill these plants. Its evergreen, spreading habit makes it suitable for use as a long
lasting groundcover. The blooms are white marked with yellow and violet. Dark markings are
found at the base of the outer petals. These are borne in abundance during summer, especially after rain.
Can grow up to 1.5m tall with a spread of up to 1m, therefore can be
used as a low hedge Planting: Keep soil moist, but not saturated, until established. On
